Susan Rosenstone Larrow

Based in East Killingly, Connecticut, Susan Rosenstone Larrow is a skillful artist who draws her inspiration from nature. Primarily working with acrylics, her paintings reflect New England landscapes, garden scenes (including her signature poppies), and more. Growing up in New Haven, Susan was interested in art from a young age. She went on to graduate from Southern Connecticut State University in 1971 and received her master's in art education from University of Hartford in 1978. Her career spanned 35 years of teaching high school art, serving as the department chair of fine arts first at Killingly High School, then at The Woodstock Academy. Now retired, Susan continues to paint full time at home and during her travels.

Artist Statement:

Since the very beginning, painting has been an integral and fulfilling part of my life. The subjects of my work have varied through the years, but I always come back to those that showcase the beauty in nature around me - flowers in my garden, coastal views, vast landscapes, and even the serenity of my own backyard. Vibrancy remains the staple throughout each piece. I fill every blank canvas with a field of color, using vivid acrylics to push the boundaries of realism and capture the viewer's eyes.
